OK, even I am cocking my head to the side a bit at exactly how I think this mainly light-hearted and cheerful little piece belongs in a series purporting to represent some of the principal philosophical scriptures of the Dharmic tradition. But it is definitely a fallacy to assume deeply spiritual individuals are always necessarily dour and serious killjoys. Endless and uninterrupted bliss, after all, is the universally stated end-stage of Moksha. Besides which, woodwinds always eventually demand cheerful resolutions.
For the uninitiated, the Aitareya Upanishad is one of the noblest and most ancient Hindu scriptures:
"Everything are various names only of Knowledge. Everything is produced by knowledge. It rests on Knowledge. The world is led by Knowledge. Knowledge is its cause. Knowledge is Brahman."
