Ah, finally: the hints of lyricism and balance that have generally characterized string quintets since whenever are beginning to poke through the molten rivers of dissonance my first two gushed forth. Either I am getting soft in the head from senescence or at long last maturing into the wisdom of respectable age. Or perhaps I'm just as delusional as always....

Tonal centers here are following the row: (1) C-Ab-G (2) Eb (3) D-Bb-Db-B (4) A (5) Gb-E-F.

EDIT: Bah, yet again, the .pdf-creation process in the full score has truncated a tempo marking that is not obscured in the individual parts. At Measure 706, the tempo changes to Poco pił mosso (Eighth=525). That is all.
